Patrick Sullivan
I've been an active woodworker for more than 50 years, turning out everything from furniture to clocks to toys to jewelry boxes. In the past few years I have been obsessed with making custom tools.

The process of creating beautiful things from wood requires thought, care, precision, and in many cases, the development of some clever tricks. I hope I can contribute a few of the methods I have found useful and effective.
Measurements

I'm a retired physician, and since I was trained as a scientist, I am very comfortable with metric measures. I think they make extra sense for very small parts, where fractions like 25/64 are particularly awkward.
​
However, I live in the USA, as do the majority of my viewers, where Imperial sizes remain the dominant way in which lumber, screws, metal parts, and tools are sold.
​
I am counting on the fact that my videos are aimed at relatively experienced woodworkers, who can readily convert measurements, either in their head, or on their phone, or online. Sorry if I have inconvenienced any of you.
